KLINGER® SEALEX is a PTFE product manufactured from a unique, physically networked fibrillated material. It is composed of specially prepared fluorocarbons with excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals as well as offering secure sealing under high pressures, even permitting the use of the material in applications up to 150 bar internal pressure ratings.

KLINGER® SEALEX can be applied to any sealing face, giving excellent sealing performance even at low bolt loads.

Replacement of conventional gasket materials
KLINGER® SEALEX offers particular advantages in applications which prove difficult for conventional materials:
>> When the sealing surface or the stability of the flange prevents the successful use of a conventional seal.
>> When the geometry of the flange seating demands an intricate gasket shape, which is both difficult to assemble and uneconomic to manufacture.
>> When the flange material only permit the use of low bolt loads to seat the gasket but the media in the system and the associated interior pressure demands a high integrity seal.

KLINGER® Graphite Laminate SLS is especially suitable for weak flanges at high temperatures up to 450°C.

Basis

The gasket material consists of expanded layers of graphite, wich are stuck to a 0.05mm thin smooth sheet metal foil made of 1.4401. The adhesive layer is applied via a precisely controlled process, wich makes it possible to keep the amount of adhesive below 1% of the amount of graphite in order to ensure uniform distribution of the adhesive.

High temperature gasket material for temperatures up to 900 °C and higher.
KLINGER®milam PSS is suitable for highest temperature applications.

Basis

Mica-based sealing material with perforated 0.1 mm thick stainless steel reinforcement made of 1.4401 or AISI 316.

Areas of application

The particular property of this material is the outstanding thermal stability. The weight loss at 800°C is less than 5%. In combination with excellent chemical resistance to solvents, aggressive acids, alkalis and mineral oils it offers interesting application possibilities.

SALMARCON CORRUGATED GASKETS

Corrugated gaskets are universally applicable sealing elements.

Due to the wide range of shapes that they can be produced in - including rings, ovals, elongated ovals or frames, with or without dividers, holes and retaining plates -they continue to be used in new areas. The gaskets can be fully or partially coated. Corrugated gaskets with torque support have proven excellent when used with inflexible flanges.

Corrugated gaskets advantages:

SALMARCON KAMMPROFILE

Kammprofile gaskets are excellently suited for sealing of media under extreme operating conditions, such as high operating pressures and temperatures.
Such solutions are ideal replacements for problem applications associated with other similar gaskets such as:
- metal jacketed
- solid metal
- solid graphite
- or PTFE gaskets.

Kammprofile gaskets are also prefable due to core material can be re-used.

The Salmarcon Kammprofile is a composite gasket which utilizes a serrated metal core with a soft facing material. The metal core is a machined on each contact face with concentric serrations which provide high pressure areas, ensuring that the soft coating flows into any imperfections in the flange even at relatively low bolt loads.
The soft facing material is engineered to compress into the serrations on the core and form a thin film across the peaks creating the ideal sealing density in the grooves of the profile. The result is a gasket which combines the benefits of soft cut materials with the advantages of seal integrity associated with metallic gaskets.

Rubber-steel gaskets have amassed a wide range of applications in sealing technology. Wherever the secure sealing of media with an exceptionally low leak rate, as well as low bolt loads at relatively low temperatures is required, rubber-steel gaskets provide the optimal solution.

SALMARCON SPIRAL WOUND GASKETS

Spiral wound gaskets can recover under the action of fluctuating loads caused by process fluid pressure and temperature changes, flange face temperature variations, flange rotation, bolt stress relaxation and creep.

The gasket sealing element consists of a pre-formed metallic winding strip with layers of a softer, more compressible sealing material which, during compression, is densified and flows to fill imperfections in the flange surfaces when the gasket is seated.

The metal strip holds the filler giving the gasket mechanical resistance and resilience. Salmarcon spiral wound gaskets can be manufactured from a range of filler materials according to different service conditions.

Salmarcon can manufacture metallic seal in a wide range of alloys to cover even the most chemically aggressive, high temperature and high pressure applications.

Metal gaskets are manufactured from a material such as Soft iron, Low Carbon Steel, Monel, Inconel or special alloys. A metallic material is used in high-pressure class flanges, normally above 900 Class, they can also be used in high pressure-temperature services.

LENS RING TYPE JOINT GASKET

The lens ring type Joint gasket is usually a line contact seal for use in high pressure piping devices as well as in pressure vessel heads. This lens cross section is often a spherical gasket surface area and requires specific machining on the flanges. NORSOK IX METALLIC SEAL RING GASKETS

The IX seal ring design exists in one size per DN covering all pressure classes in this product standard and the ring gaskets usually be coated with PTFE.

The NORSOK IX seal ring gaskets are designed and used where the NORSOK CFC (Compact Flange Connections) are in use. The IX seal ring is designated as described in the Key features. The designation elements shall be separated by / (slash). The number of characters is not fixed.

RING TYPE JOINTS

Ring Type Joints [RTJ] are heavy-duty, high-pressure gaskets largely used in offshore petrochemical applications and can be manufactured from a number of materials to suit the process media and the flange materials.

RTJ are precision machined metallic rings which are designed to be used with API 6B, ASME B16.5 and API 6BX [dependent on the gasket style] flanges. As indicated, RTJs are often used in offshore applications and certain styles can be adapted for subsea installation.

INSULATING KITS

SALMARCON Flange Insulation Kits are designed to ensure electric insulation and to combat the effects of corrosion often found in flanged pipe systems.
By eliminating metal-to-metal contact, static current is halted to prevent corrosion and to aid in the cathodic protection of the piping system. The kits can be used to control stray electric currents in piping at oil, gas, water, refinery and chemical plants in order to increase the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems.
Experience has shown that cathodic protection, together with high grade passive corrosion protection from the application of a coating on the pipeline, provides a most efficient and economical solution.

KIT CONTENTS

Insulating sets comprise of a phenolic laminate or neoprene faced phenolic laminate gasket (TYPE E and TYPE F) which is located between the flange sealing faces, phenolic laminate bolt sleeves, two insulating washers per bolt for maximum protection and two plated mild steel washers per bolt. Stainless steel washers can be supplied upon request.
Insulating sets are essentially used for pipeline flange corrosion protection, where a seal is required between dissimilar flange materials. The use of dissimilar metallic flanges with a conductive gasket material accompanied with a suitable electrolyte may set up a galvanic cell which will corrode the anodic metal. Insulating sets are also used to electrically isolate flange joints, preventing the flow of electrostatic charge along pipelines.

Liquid level gauges feature a reflex glass within the body. An observation slot on the other side allows for clear reading of non-hazardous liquids. With regard to applications that involve either hazardous or toxic liquids or gases, operators around the world rely on the magnetic level gauges.

›› Reflex level gauges allow the medium to be viewed through a reflex glass: the side of the glass which is exposed to the medium has a prismatic surface, while the other side is smooth. Reflex level gauges offer great advantages in terms of low purchase and maintenance costs, as well as easy level reading.

›› Transparent level gauges contain the fluid between two crystals with both smooth surfaces. The level is observed in a very easy way, namely looking through the glasses. This kind of crystal makes the level gauge good for aggressive fluids or steam, since protective mica shields can be installed between the fluid and the glass.

›› Bi-Colour level gauges are a variant of transparent level gauges, mainly used to measure very high pressure water steam. These gauges feature two flat transparent glasses which, together with the gauge body, form the chamber containing the fluid. In this case, a special red and green illuminator is mounted on the rear side of the gauge body in order to obtain a double illumination system.

›› Magnetic level gauges are particularly suitable for duties involving dangerous and toxic liquids and gases, and where some of the following features are required such as an immediate and precise response to level changes, ensuring clear and sharp readability as well as a continuous control of the liquid level and more.

›› Spare parts for level gauges. The lenses in Reflective and Transparent level gauges become blurred over time, and they can be ordered as spare parts. When the lenses are changed, the gaskets should also be changed.

ADVANTAGES OF PORTABLE CUTTING MACHINE
For cutting seals on site and for quick service on the go and for mobile workshops. The ring cutting machine was originally developed for cutting sealing plates of soft gaskets especially aramid fibre and without a metallic insert type of pr oduc ts.

Making the equipment opeational.
Basically, it is also possible to cut sealing plates like Salmarcon graphite laminate [SALMARCON SALGRAF SGS 3] and KLINGER® Milam PSS. The cutting result is also influenced by the manual skill of the respective user.

Slitting routines.
You can now commence the circular slitting operations. A centring boring has already been tapped into the small plate with the punch supplied. By turning large hand wheel, the circular slitter can then be moved together with the small plate. The depth the slitter can be engaged stage by stage by means of the small hand wheel per turn of the workpiece depends on the gauge and the hardness of the plate presented. The ideal gauge is between 0.5 and 3.0 mm.
